How the credit system works when shows get cancelled

Overview

Sometimes shows need to be cancelled. WALRUS has a fan-friendly system that gives ticket holders a choice: take a full refund, or accept platform credits with a 10% bonus. This is better for fans (they get more value if they choose credits) and better for the ecosystem.

What Happens When You Cancel

You cancel the show from your Manage dashboard.

Every ticket holder is notified and given a choice: full refund or platform credits with a 10% bonus.

Fans have 14 days to make their choice.

If a fan doesn't choose within 14 days, they're automatically refunded.

Credit System

Credits include a 10% bonus — a $20 ticket becomes $22 in credits.

Credits can be used for any purchase on WALRUS (tickets, events, video messages).

Credits expire after 1 year.

Credits are applied on a first-in, first-out basis (oldest credits used first).

Credits do not apply to subscriptions.

Missed Shows

If a scheduled show isn't started by the artist, WALRUS automatically detects it as missed. After a grace period, missed shows are auto-cancelled and the same refund/credit choice process begins for ticket holders.

Cancellations affect your reputation with fans. If you need to cancel, do it as early as possible and communicate why. Fans are understanding when artists are transparent.
